MISSION
The mission of Middlesex Human Service Agency, Inc. is to improve the quality of life
and independent functioning of a wide variety of clients through the delivery of an
extensive system of community-based substance abuse and social service programs.
Although our programs are many and varied, all emphasize dignity, respect and
empowerment. We believe in teaching individuals and families the skills and problem
solving abilities needed for self sufficiency.
We pride ourselves on our ability to work with a wide variety of clients. The clients
we serve are often the most disenfranchised members of their communities; confronting a
wide array of problems including homelessness, substance abuse, mental health issues,
legal issues and lack of educational and vocational skills.
MHSA also values our employees, interns and volunteers and is supportive of their
needs. In order to provide the highest quality services to our clients and foster staff
development and growth, MHSA is committed to excellent staff training and education.
MHSA believes that it has a responsibility to Waltham and the surrounding communities
and works with local government, educational, civic, religious, and other professional
agencies to improve and maintain client resources in the community.
Our programs are funded in part by federal, state and municipal monies. The remainder
of the operational and program costs are funded by donations from civic, church and
synagogue, corporate and individual donors.
