Update - Unfortunately, Boy's Group lost funding as a result of budget cuts in September of 2005.  We are constantly looking for new funding sources with the hopes of resurrecting this program.  Please check back for updates.  The information below is as of the end of funding.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The "Waltham Community Boy's Group" was formed in 1998 as a joint venture between Project Outreach and the Waltham Police Department.  The group was modeled after the successful " Waltham Community Girl's Group."  The goal of the group is to bring together a diverse group of young males from our city.  The group is organized and run by male Outreach Workers and male Police Officers.

The group is open to all seventh and eighth grade boy's in Waltham.  We meet weekly from October to June.  Attendance is voluntary, so you can come whenever and as often as you want.  Sometimes we go on field trips.  No matter what we do, we always have fun in a safe and supportive environment.

Some of the most popular activities include a variety of games and tournaments throughout the year and field trips.  Past field trips have included Celtics Games, Sledding, and the year-end trip to Six Flags New England.

Please note that to be eligible for field trips, students must attend on a "regular basis."  This is determined by staff.  If students must miss an extended period due to participation in other activities such as after school sports, theater, etc., please let staff know in advance and when you expect to return.  If this is done, the time missed will not count against a student when determining regular attendance.

Finally, while we provide transportation for field trips, we regret that we can not provide transportation to or from the weekly meetings.  Students are responsible for their own transportation each week.
